Concrete pontoons
The Marsa Al Arab marina is the shimmering blue jewel at the heart of the exclusive Marsa Al Arab hotel and residential development. The marina is a state-of-the-art maritime facility offering an 82-berth capacity. Designed to host vessels up to 61 meters long, it meets the needs of discerning yacht owners seeking a premium and private cruising destination with immediate access to the open sea.
For this project, Sigma PM Consultancy has partnered with AECOM to design and deliver advanced floating marine solutions. We have used reinforced concrete pontoons engineered for heavy-load buoyancy, longevity, and exceptional performance in extreme weather conditions. Their resistance to corrosion, rust, and degradation results in minimal maintenance over their lifespan. In order to enhance their functionality, we have customised them to accommodate environmentally rated connection boxes and fender systems. We have used strong-welded galvanised steel pile guides for the marina walkway, featuring attractive fiberglass pile caps for an enhanced and cohesive aesthetic. Additionally, the marina features the latest facilities for refuelling and maintenance, therefore ensuring appropriate support is given to crew members. The design reflects the high standards of the Jumeirah Group brand (subsidiary of Dubai Holding), innovating on luxury and setting a new benchmark for marine developments in the region.
The Marsa Al Arab marina’s development marks another step forward in enhancing marine infrastructure and accessibility along Dubai’s coastline. Marsa Al Arab is the latest addition to the Jumeirah Hotel and Resorts trilogy collection on Jumeirah Beach. The superyacht-shaped hotel adheres to a subtle nautical theme, alongside the sail-shaped Burj Al Arab and the wave-shaped Jumeirah Beach Hotel.
